A Little Moroccan Getaway

When the going gets tough and the tough gets going, sometimes all you need is a clean break from everything.
I'm recalling one of my greatest breaks, my trip to Hua Hin last August.

Our destination was Riad Boutique hotel, at Kao Takieab beach, a little further from the city area.
My very first experience with Moroccan style resort.
The name "Riad" means garden in Arabic.
Here we are, the hot yellow shade brightens my trip already!
 The lobby
The swimming pool in the middle of the building
Our room, sleeping cat, is the largest with Jacuzzi, located right in front of the pool on the first floor.
The other 2 are sitting cat and standing cat types.
The owner is very fond of cats so you will find them smiling at you in every corner!

And of course the real super duper adorable ones, too. MEOW!!
We are Siamese if you're pleased! LOL
I was truly madly in love with them! They are just, sooooo KAWAII !!!
And here are my photos from the trip. All the credit goes to my companion, Por chan (^^)/
In front of the hotel

  In the bedroom :)

 This trip's outfit
 Day 1
Dress : Jaspal floral maxi dress
Hand bag : Anna Sui
Accessories  : Kate Spade "This year I will" bangle
Gucci watch
Anna Sui ring rouge
Flower head band I got at the bus stop just before the trip!

To tell the truth it was the first time I wear maxi dress. When I saw this one at Jaspal, with no reasons I couldn't resist it! I didn't even try it on! LOL

After a long girl talk by the day bed and some refreshing drinks, we got on the bicycles and rode to the beach, had a big meal of seafood!
After a little ride to explore the near by area, we came back to the hotel.
The hotel at night
At first we planned to go swimming but there was a happening. They were holding Hua Hin Jazz festival in town and probably overused  the electricity, our area was blackout for a couple of hours!!
But we were not at all upset about this.
On the contrary, we took our sparkling wine up to the moon deck and "cheers!!". The black out made the night sky more starry than ever.
It was a very precious moment I wanna capture in a frame forever.
What more can you ask for?

Yes, you can always ask more for a bubble bath in a Jacuzzi!! LOL

That night we had another long talk about our future, love, life, passion.
It's so nice to have someone you can share your thoughts so openly to.

Good morning new day!

Day 2
Dress : French Connection
I got this one like a steal from their summer sale. There was only one left and it was size 10, way too big for a 4 girl like me. But I really really wanted it so!

And here's my review of this spectacular trip.
Accommodation : ★★★★1/2
Food : ★★★
Service : ★★★★★
Price : ★★★★

This small boutique hotel truly impressed me! The architecture, the color, the furnishing were very unique, making me feel as if I was really in the middle east.  The cats characteristics decoration was just adorable.  And YAY for the bicycles!! The hotel was quite and you can feel the privacy of your stay. The only sadness (not for me,though) is that it's not beach front. You have to take a 10 minute walk to reach the beach.

The owner provided friendly hospitality. All through our stay she played only songs from the 80s. Those were the melodies of my childhood that I can still  hum along. It did compliment this trip. Stephen Bishop's " It might be you"  was my favorite from her playlist. I can never put in words how much I love this song. Seriously, out of 10 billions songs I've known all my life, this one is sure in the top ten. TIMELESS.

The hotel had no restaurant, only a small kitchen where they cook breakfast for the guests. Well, I was full with the happiness already I needed no food! LOL
The price was very reasonable, 3,500 baht per night for the sleeping cat room, breakfast included.

Over all, I rate this hotel 4 stars and a half.
Definitely going back and highly recommend you guys to pay a visit. It's a perfect place for holiday, especially if you adore cats!

Thank you Riad, for such an unforgettable weekend.
Thank you Por chan for being the sweetest companion and for the photos.
Oh, if you need to know, during our trip she suddenly encouraged me to start blogging.
So here I am!
Make sure you check out her blogs about cooking, sewing and passion for fashion too!

This evening I'm heading back to Bangkok to see if everything is alright there. I might take my mom back to stay with me here too if the flooding gets worse.Praying for things to settle down soon. I miss my home like crazy! Have a twirly weekend!

Coloring my life

Lately all we hear is the news about the flood.
Some parts of Thailand are now effected and suffering a massive flooding. Luckily, Bangkok my hometown is still safe, and my work place too. Fingers crossed for Thailand. I hope the sun comes out and shine on us soon!

Despite the flooding crisis, I've been trying to color my life up with something inspiring.
Movies, music, books, and of course, my latest toy iPad2!
I'm not sure if I can call it "mine" because it's mom who bought it but since she rarely uses it, she just handed it to me and said"You go play with it".
Ha! Thank you mom!!
This might sound absolutely ridiculous but I was happy not because of the iPad, but because I got to buy it a sleeve!! I've always wanted to buy Kate Spade's iPad sleeve to match my Macbook Pro one. A bit sad that the price was the same as Macbook's. Well, never mind! I'm too overjoyed to argue!
The"All typed up" sleeve series. They are just so lovely together!
I'm enjoying reading online magazines, watching fashion shows, playing piano and drawing, things my iPhone are obviously too small for!

Here are some of my drawings inspired by Disney's Alice, Bamby and Snowwhite. They are all painted by my finger tips via whiteboard application.  So much fun I sometimes do it non-stop 'til late at night. Now I can draw birthday cards and stuff for my friends. iPad really is coloring my life!!

Apart from the sleeves, here are my recent Kate Spade purchase.
If you have read my earlier entry of me whining about this twirl necklace I couldn't get in time from the US website, here it is, I finally got it from Nagoya, Japan, by my very kind senior who used to study in Tohoku University with me. It's my daily wear now :)

Arriving from the US eventually, the "Moon River" pearl necklace. Breakfast at Tiffany's anyone? ;)
"The signature spade" ring in size 6, the smallest.
And I've got one more piece to come from Japan, the limited edition brand special box with tote bag and 4 mini books inside. Can't wait :) Come to mommy!!

Besides shopping and iPad, a couple of weeks ago I went for the movie "Friends with benefits" with the least expectations, thinking it would  be just another romantic comedy junk. To my surprise, it was very entertaining! And believe me I don't say this often 'cause I'm very very hard to please when it comes to movies! More than anything, the soundtrack captured my attention. I downloaded it right away that evening, and it was another delightful album! My favorite at the moment.

If I have to name 3 favorite tracks ( which is very hard because all of them are amazing in its own way), I would pick...
Why? Because it wraps up the whole movie in just one song! I mean, the producer must have made this movie out of this song,no doubt. If you have seen it, you would understand what I'm talking about!
My god this talented young R&B artist really knows how to sing! This has been my favorite track of her album "Archandroid" and it sounds alive again in this collection of soundtrack. No songs can make me feel like dancing right in my office more than this one does! Make sure to see how she moves in the MV!
This number from the band who are currently the talk of the town, is not included in the album, but is in the bonus track list. The song is totally adorable, with the British indie pop sound, (they are from LA though), catchy bass lines and the whistling! I'm checking out their debut album next time I go to the CD shop!

Wow this is a long engtry but I'm really happy writing it :)
If anyone has any iPad applications to recommend or any opinions about the soundtrack, feel free to leave your comments, I'd be very glad to hear from you.
Have a lovely week and live color-fully!

New hair

I've been away for a big while again.
And when I realize, there were new comments from other lovely bloggers.
I never thought there would be someone reading this!
Somehow I thought it was me talking to myself LOL.
Big thanks to all of you who are reading.
You guys make my day! And please leave your URL so I can go visit your blogs as well!

What do we have today, oh yes, my NEW HAIR.(Not even sure if new is the word.)
To be frank, hair-do is so not my thing. I've always had the same old hair style, straightened and colored. The only revolution I've done to it was to dye it back to natural black a year ago after I got back from Japan

April 2009, Japan.
April 2010, back to basic black.
In May 2011 I suddenly got bored of all this and had it permed. A very big move for me!
But....the perm didn't last at all. When I don't put the hair mousse on, it looks pretty weird, not straight nor curly. The hair dresser said mainly because it has been straightened for so long it's hard to get curly in just one perm.
You can see how weird it is,right!?

This in between look totally got on my nerves! I know it's my own fault I can't wake up early and take better care of it but still!!! The curls got more and more loosen and finally I couldn't take it anymore so yesterday I decided to just..go have hair extension, hoping it to cover all the mess of my "caught in the middle" look.

This was taken right after it was done. The hairdresser curled it as a service. Why can't it look like this automatically everyday without having to put any effort??

My hair is in its longest length ever and I'm loving it! Feeling a bit weird having someone else's hair on my head though. Hahaha.
Anyways, I do hope this extension lasts long. (should be about 6 months) I originally planed to re-curl it or have it layered a bit but I'll just leave it like this to see how it looks when I do nothing to it. (which of course, this lazy girl won't, no doubt :p)
 The new hair
The old hair.
Any difference after all? LOL

So many other new things in these past 2 weeks I wanna talk about (new toy iPad, new favorite albums, new books) but I'd better get going since Monday is waiting ahead. I'm really excited if the people in my office will notice this!
Hope you guys had a nice weekend like I did!
