What a lovely weekend it was.
Woke up to find mom's homemade organic breakfast. ( It's her current obsession)
Went to 23th Thailand's domestic travel Festival with long-time-no-see friends, got some good hotel deals and celebrated with a Pizza at Wine Connection Restaurant.
Got this adorable merlion as a souvenir from my bestie Kej who had her "Going solo" trip to Singapore last week. (Isn't that just cool? It was her second time abroad and she went all alone!)
Hand in hand shopping with my mom :) Look what we got!
And the best of all,
Had a wonderful dinner with my long term BFF Maprang, whom I haven't met for over a year since she left for her second bachelor degree of Jewelry design, Central Saint Martin, England.
She surprised me with the hard cover edition of my all time favorite book "There's a boy in the girl's bathroom" by Louis Sachar. I lent her this a long time ago and she somehow lost it in her mystery room full of boxes of shoes, clothes and jewelry. (If you think I'm a mad shopper, think again!) so she bought me this for an apology. Just look at the beautiful illustration of the cover, love it! Ask me what I love to read the most and my answer would always be the same, no matter how old I grow. It is a truly stunning and touching story I can never get enough of.
and the last surprise
She gave me her original design "M&M" ring, which she plans to launch this collection online soon.
My best friend made this! She's a designer and a brand owner! Don't you just love her already?
Raspberry tiramisu and lemon mille feuille
We talked and talked and talked more. It was like our old days, talking 'til we fall asleep on the phone, reading each other poems, singing each other songs (well, mostly I was the one singing!) and so on. Good old memories with her came back more lively than ever. We ended our nostalgic night with these lovely desserts from the "hottie" chef Johnny Liu of "The horse says moo" restaurant. The food, the place, the drink, (and of course, the one who cooked) were all fantastic. We really enjoyed the night :)
I have to say again, it was a truly lovely weekend I've had in a long time. I think my battery is fully charged and I'm ready to face the coming monday.
Hope you guys had a twirly weekend too!
What a nice weekend you got there. My weekend was kind nice too na. But the deepest impression is that I spent A LOT. As you got a lot of presents, I think and I hope your Mr.Wallet is doing fine. (Even if he is not, I am sure your fairy godmother from Citibank land can cast hget spell. :D )
ReplyDelete"You can never shop too much" said Lulu Guinness ( and of course she has that printed on one of her wallet collections too)
ReplyDeleteOh by the way, the raspberry tiramisu was great, but I still love Minibar Royale's more. I think it must be pretty hard to find the competitor as qualified :P
Glad to hear that you had a love weekend naja. The pictures are so chic, beautiful and delicious too. ^^
ReplyDeleteHong chan!! How is it going there in Cambridge? Hope you are having lots of fun! Tell me everything when we skype okay?
ReplyDeleteMy next entry is definitely gonna be about you, wait & see ne ^_^
The life here is good but so tiring ja. I don't have so much opportunity to online when it's 7-10 pm in BKK since I have to go buying some surviving stuffs...(TwT) After finishing somewhat dinner it's usually 3 am there... I may need a bicycle very soon...
ReplyDeleteHowever, I start to obsess with shopping online, enroll for member cards and being members of blah blah blah recently. ^^; The system here is very convenient! And if there's any discount, that's so helpful.
There're several things I like here anyway. Town, weather, fashion style, green park etc. I will show photos to you if I have a chance to take them ne.
Missing you, rice and decent meals so much!!
Greetings from Cambridge ja >w< *hugs*
I remember taking the bus to town and wander around the shops, many cute book stores and vintage stuff, wonder if it has changed since then. (they close so early ner, only sound of silence is left at 6PM!)
ReplyDeleteRiding bicycle in Cambridge sounds like a lot of fun! Show me the pic of your bicycle when you get it na!
I know English meals are not tempting for appetite but be sure to eat healthy food and take care of yourself na ja!
Hugs and kisses from BKK
